Donated building materials help those in need twice.

The Habitat for Humanity ReStore sells surplus new and used building and home improvement materials to the general public at 50% - 70% off retail pricing.
The supply of materials sold in the store comes through donations by
private citizens, contractors, and local home supply businesses.
These materials can be remnants from building projects, overstocks, slightly damaged new merchandise, or any other building material that would otherwise end up in the landfill.

BENEFITS TO THE COMMUNITY

Less solid waste ends up in the landfill.

People and businesses donating materials for sale in the ReStore save dumping costs and gain a tax deduction.

Donating materials or shopping at the ReStore helps supports Habitat in its mission of building new homes for low income families in Morgan County.

More families are moved out of substandard housing into simple, decent homes giving them a new start and breaking the cycle of poverty.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

You can donate home improvement materials that can be sold in the ReStore.  Any building or remodeling material that is in good shape can be recycled through the ReStore, saving you dumping costs and providing a tax deduction as well. Check out our complete list of acceptable types of donations under the Donating Materials link. Equally important, your donations will go back into the community to help people who are upgrading their homes.

You can volunteer to work in the store as warehouse worker, truck driver, office assisant, or in various other ways.  Click here or call us at 256-308-1160 to learn more about how you can help out at the store.
